IT Project Manager

Kforce at General Motors, Warren, MI Oct 2004 – Mar 2005

·               Managed infrastructure improvements at the GM Warren Data Center during transition from EDS to HP.  Included shutting down old data center infrastructure and equipment, rebuilding the data center with additional power and cooling capacity, consolidating and moving server based applications from remote sites, decommissioning  and disposition of old servers, e.g., ProLiant servers, migration of data and applications, hardware refreshes as well as replacements with new HP servers and Sun servers.  Overall there were hundreds of new servers involved as well as storage from EMC , e.g., Symmetrix and Celera.  The major rebuild also involved replication to remote centers.  The entire budget remained unknown but was well north of $500 million.

·               Drove upgrades and new projects to timely and successful completion 

·               Assembled teams and provided reports to upper management. 

·               Conferred with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.

·               Used MS Project 2003, GM PDAT and SDP-21 processes and methodology and monitored PMO metrics, issues, action items, and risks.  Reported out weekly to upper management.
